Beach Rules

Dogs are not allowed on the National Park Service section of Stinson Beach. Leashed dogs are allowed in the parking and picnic areas and on the adjacent county beach, which is why you will see dogs on the sand next door.

No wood beach fires at Stinson Beach. Muir Beach and Ocean Beach are the park's only designated beach fire areas. A portable charcoal barbecue or liquid fuel stove may still be used in established picnic areas unless signs say otherwise.

A group of 50 or more people, or a group of any size bringing significant equipment such as tents or catering, counts as a special event and needs a park permit.

Drones may not be launched, landed or flown anywhere in Golden Gate National Recreation Area without written approval from the Regional Director.

Glass containers are banned twice over here: park wide on every beach and within 15 feet of it, and again by the swimming beach rule that names Stinson Beach.

Eskoot Creek at Stinson Beach is closed to fishing. The compendium does not close the open surf.
