Beach Rules

Turner Beach, the Lee County park on Captiva at Blind Pass, does not allow dogs, per the county's current page for this beach, though the underlying 2018 ordinance names it as an exception.

Possessing, consuming or distributing alcohol is banned in any Lee County park, which by definition includes the county's beaches.

Fires are limited to designated fireplaces or grills, and this beach has none on the sand.

The county does not ban drones outright at its beaches, but flights must comply with FAA and Florida law.

Glass containers may not be brought to any Lee County beach.

The county's smoking ban is limited to indoor park facilities and school property, not the open beach.

Fishing is allowed with a Florida saltwater fishing license, except within 200 feet of a designated swim-only area. Nets, spears, bow and arrow, snatch hooks and gigs are banned at all times.

Metal detecting is allowed on ordinary beach sand. It is barred only on athletic fields or in environmentally sensitive or hazardous areas.
