Forgotten Coast rules

·

Apalachicola oysters are the reason people drive here — eat them raw at a raw bar, not fried.

·

The island grocery store closes early and has limited stock — provision in Apalachicola before crossing the bridge.

·

Scallop season runs June–September. Rent masks and bags, go shallow in the grass flats, eat what you catch.

·

No Publix, no McDonald's, no CVS on the island. That's the entire point.

Two local favorites for eating at St. George Island: Blue Parrot Oceanfront Cafe for the Raw Apalachicola Oysters, and Harry A's Bar & Grill for the Grilled Grouper. Check today’s water, surf and UV on the conditions page.
