The $8 parking fee is NYC Parks pricing -- one of the most affordable beach lots in the city.
Arrive before 10 AM on summer weekends or the main lot fills and they stop letting cars in.
Free off-season parking from October through May -- the beach is beautiful and empty in the fall.
