Longboat Key is NOT a mass-tourism beach — parking is intentionally limited. The 21 small accesses fill on good-weather weekends.
Arrive early or late. The 8 AM crowd and the post-4 PM crowd have far better luck than the 11 AM crowd.
Mar Vista Dockside has a small lot; if you're dining there, use it and walk to the beach before your reservation.
St. Armands Circle (15 min south) has large garages if you want to combine the beach with shopping.
