Good Harbor's parking fills by 10 AM on summer Saturdays -- plan to be at the beach before 9:30 AM and save dinner for Gloucester or Rockport.
Woodman's in Essex is 25 min west -- the mandatory Cape Ann food pilgrimage. Go for lunch on a weekday to avoid the peak summer wait.
Rockport is 10 min east with Roy Moore's Fish Shack for fried scallops and Motif No. 1 for the photos -- a natural Good Harbor afternoon extension.
Gloucester's fish pier area has the most authentic Cape Ann dining -- the Portuguese-owned spots with kale soup and bacalhau are the real deal.
