The town lists Old Harbor and the town area from Crescent Beach north to Beachhead, and Fred Benson Beach out to its parking lots, among the places where fires are not allowed, along with anywhere within 25 feet of the dunes and the National Wildlife Refuge. Elsewhere on Block Island a fire needs a same day permit from the Police Station with the Fire Chief's consent, must be out by midnight and all litter carried away.
