The Clam Box in Ipswich gets lines by 11:30 AM in summer. Arrive at 11 or save it for a weekday.
Parking fills by 9-10 AM on summer Saturdays -- get to the beach early and plan dinner in Ipswich or Essex on the way out.
Nonmembers pay $35-$40 per car in summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day) and $15-$25 in the extended season; Trustees members pay less and the top levels park free.
